How To Get In Shape

1) Make Workouts a Fact of Life!
Working out is not optional! You must do it. And while some say that you should ease into an exercise routine — your best bet is to commit to doing some form of exercise EVERY DAY in order to make it a habit in the beginning. This doesn’t mean that you have to push yourself beyond your limits — always exercise at what doable for your body — but start with the goal of doing something every day.

2) Do It For Yourself!
Don’t get in shape for your partner, or your friends, you have to do it for yourself. Dig down deep for that self love, and use it propel you to make a change to make yourself better.

3) Get Selfish About Your Exercise Time!
You have to plan exercise and workout time, and no one or nothing else (short of an emergency) should interfere with that time. Don’t let the people in the life distract you from your goals, they might be trying to sabotage your progress, or are just being needy about wanting your time. Let them sweat it out while you sweat it out.

4) Have a Dedicated Work Area!
Whether that’s the gym, or a corner of your house where you keep your dumbbells and towels — have a space for you to work on your body. Just like people have an office to do their work.

5) Find A Workout Buddy!
Having a workout buddy is great, but don’t let it keep you from working out if they can’t. We’ve found that planning on going to a class with a friend sets some parameters and helps with accountability.

6) Keep Pushing Yourself!
Once you’ve established a routine (yay!), it’s important to not get comfortable just doing what you — always be setting new fitness and life goals!
